The Neuroverse introduces FRIENDSHIP SKILLS GROUPS with our unique FRIENDSHIP FORWARD 8 week skills program.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Our unique FRIENDSHIP FORWARD SOCIAL PROGRAM is an evidence based program for kids who experience difficulties socialising and/or making and keeping friends. Unlike other programs that focus on shaping and managing behaviours, our skills programme promotes the social and emotional skills that motivate and support friendships, such as empathy and caring.
WHAT IS THE COURSE ABOUT?
The Friendship Forward skills course is an eight-week program designed to teach children the essential skills for initiating and interacting socially with their peers. Structured like a “playdate,” each session provides children the opportunity to practice these newly learned skills through real-life interactions with other participants in the group.
WHEN & WHERE DOES IT TAKE PLACE?
The course takes place once a week at The Baby and Child Wellness Centre in Bryanston (279 Bryanston Drive). The session is strictly 1 hour and children may not be left on the premises after the session has ended.
DO PARENTS/CAREGIVERS ATTEND?
Only the children attend the session. The centre has secure parking and waiting areas for caregivers to wait whilst the session takes place.
WHO IS FACILITATING THE COURSE?
The course will be facilitated by Tamra Jones and Jules Belasyse-Smith founders of The Neuroverse. Tamra is a Registered Mental Health counsellor with over 12 years of experience in both clinical and private settings and a mom of an AuDHD child. Jules has a BA Psych and has 2 children with ADHD and a wealth of experience in the world of neurodiversity.

HOW MUCH DOES THE COURSE COST?
The course costs R3400 for the eight-week program (1hr session per week). This can be partially claimed back on medical aid. Please request further information upon booking.
